How Do I Use It?:

The Yahoo Store Graphic Downloader is designed to be very simple to use. There are only a few selections that you need to worry about.

After running the program you will see a screen similar to the snapshot at the bottom of this page. Fill in and select the fields as follows:

Store ID: This is where you put the ID of your Yahoo Store. Your Yahoo Store ID is the portion of your store name that follows "store.yahoo.com/" in your store URL. For example, if your store is located at http://store.yahoo.com/buybathware then your Store ID is buybathware.

Index Page: This is the html page where the index to all of your items is stored. By default this page is image-export.html. This page will function even if there are no links to it from anywhere in your site. This page is used to find all of the items in your store.

Where to download: The three boxes to the right of this are used to select a drive and folder you would like to download your graphics to. The files box (far right) is to give you a preview of what files are in the folder currently. All files in the folder will be downloaded as a GIF or JPG with the first portion of the file name as the ID of the item it was retrieved from. Before the download starts (right after you hit the download button) you will be asked whether you want to overwrite any matching files. If you answer YES it will replace the existing file with the downloaded one, answering NO will simply leave the existing file and will not download the graphic from your store.

Create New Folder: This button allows you to create a sub folder underneath the folder you have selected in the Where To Download. This is handy for creating a new blank folder for downloading your graphics.

Download Orderable Items Only: This check box determines if the main image will be downloaded from every item in your store or if it will simply download items that can be ordered (skipping sections, etc.)

Download Button: Once you have filled in all the previous information and selected the appropriate folder to download the graphics to, simply click the download button and the process will begin.

The program will then begin scanning your store and will esimate the number of graphics to download (based on the number of pages in your site) and will begin downloading. If it is unable to download a graphic (page does not have one, item isn't orderable, etc.) then it will decrease the maximum graphic count.

This program will continue until all the graphics are downloaded. You may continue working with your computer while this runs, or you may simply leave it to run in order to speed up the process.

After the downloading is complete the program will ask if you would like to see a log of the files downloaded. This is provided so you can find out if there were problems downloading any files and why.
